A TOP manager from B&Q opened a new warehouse at Harris Brushes, Stoke Prior.
The new building was opened last Thursday by Chris Wilmott, a buyer from B&Q, who are one of Harris' best customers. The 'by-Royal-appointment' firm needed the extra space for storing brushes, made in China.
Company director Andrew Harris said: "We've opened this new warehouse to cope with the increased demands on our business. Our turnover has doubled in the last five years."
The recently launched voluntary redundancy scheme at the firm has had 15 takers. Mr Harris said more people had applied for it but had been refused.
He added: "At the present time we don't anticipate any compulsory redundancies."
