LICKEY Monarchs team of Roy Norton, captain Martin Clark and Alan Colley were much too good for Droitwich 'B' and ran out 10-0 winners.
Cartex Retail 'A', who are second in the league behind Monarchs, were also too good for West Midland Phones 'A', winning 9-1. Ian Maybury got the Phones only win.
West Midlands Phones 'B' did better than the 'A' team, achieving a 5-5 draw against Barnt Green 'A'. The Green had to thank their captain, Mark Cornish, who had a great night winning his three games.
SPSP lost 7-3 at home to Droitwich 'A'. Gordon Nicklin and Trevor Simmons both won three for Droitwich, as well as the doubles.
In Division Two, Studley Road Terriers had two games. They beat Droitwich 'C' 10-0 but found West Midland Phones 'C' a different proposition, losing 8-2. Ian Cooper and Colin Platt both won three for the Phones with Jeff Cook getting two.
However, the best game of the week was between Hillcrest and Barnt Green 'B', ending in a 5-5 draw. Pat McCabe won his usual three games for the Green with Mike Evetts getting one. They then teamed up to win the doubles and get the draw.
For Hillcrest, Alan McCloughlan and Graeme Farrell both won two with Mark Cohe getting one.
Cartex Retail 'C' lost 7-3 at home to West Midland Phones 'C'. Colin Platt starred for the Phones winning all his games with Ian Cooper getting two and Jeff Cook one. Ian and Colin also won the doubles. For Cartex, Dot McFarlane did best winning tow. Steve Dimbylow got their other win.
Studley Road Nomads had an easy 10-0 win in their local derby against Studley Road Bulldogs.
