Cyclists taking part in the Milk Race are pictured above passing along Green Street, Kidderminster. The photograph was taken from the bridge over the River Stour and shows Victoria Carpets and many of the carpet manufacturing building which are currently being demolished to make way for a retail development.
Pictured below is an artists' impression of how the retail development may look once completed.
Most of the familiar buildings on Green Street have now been demolished.
The curved building of Rowe Carpets and the footbridge were familiar site in Green Street.
All that remains between the junction of Pump Street to the junction of Dixon Street is the shell of the former Victoria Carpets factory The Rowe Carpets building, now completely demolished.
As work continues on this site we will publish further pictures.
