DRIVERS have been warned to be on their guard after slippery roads caused a spate of accidents yesterday.
A woman in her 70s was airlifted to Selly Oak hospital with severe head and chest injuries after being cut free from her Peugeot, which was in collision with a Land Rover at the Danemoor Crossroads, near Malvern, at 9.45am.
A 53-year-old Worcester man was also airlifted to Worcestershire Royal Hospital with leg and chest injuries when his car was in collision with a lorry at 11.45am, in Brockhampton, near Hereford.
At 2.50pm, a car overturned on the M5, south of J7 on the southbound carriageway.
The driver only had minor injuries and the ambulance and air ambulance were stood down.
"When we haven't had rain for a while it's always like this. People should be careful," said Malvern Fire Station sub officer Saul Bolton, who attended the Danemoor incident.
