MALVERN Horticultural Society's spring show has been cancelled because of a lack of entries.
The show was due to be held last Saturday at Christ Church Hall, Avenue Road, but only four people submitted entries.
"Four isn't enough for a decent show," said vice-president and show manager Tony Hughes. "Normally we have about 20 people."
Mr Hughes said there seemed to be no single cause for the fall-off in entries.
"I've spoken to a few people," he said. "One has dug up the garden, another has had a fall, someone else is away on holiday. It's just been a bit of a coincidence."
The society's next major event is its summer show on the first Saturday in August.
