SOME of the most popular arias and choruses made famous by films and TV adverts will be performed by the English Symphony Orchestra.
The evening at the Birmingham's Symphony Hall will begin with the Prologue from I Pagliacci and closes with the Triumphal March and Chorus from Aida.
In between, the orchestra, conducted by ESO's musical director William Boughton, will perform famous choruses such as Nessun Dorma, associated with Football World Cup Italia 1990, the Flower Song and Toreador's Song from Carmen, the Finale of Act 1 of La Boheme and the Can-Can from Orpheus in the Underworld.
Soloists performing in the concert on Thursday, April 10, include soprano Rebecca Caine, tenor Jeffrey Stewart and baritone Mark Holland.
Canadian Caine has sung title roles with Glyndebourne, Scottish Opera, Opera North, The National Theatre of Prague and the English National Opera.
Stewart has also sung with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, English National Opera, and Opera North and has appeared in concert in Vienna, Budapest, Paris, Rome and New York.
Holland is one of the nation's leading baritones and as well as performing with Royal Opera, English National Opera and Glyndebourne he has appeared with Komische Oper and Deutsche Oper in Berlin.
