AWARD-winning independent energy supplier, BizzEnergy, has appointed a new chief executive.
Steve Fletcher was formerly chief executive officer for npower.
During his three years there he oversaw a period of significant expansion and managed a number of complex acquisitions and integrations.
He also oversaw the development of the npower brand into one of the most recognised energy brands in the UK market.
He has experience in both energy purchasing and retailing, and has held high-ranking positions at many companies, including London Electricity.
John Devaney, BizzEnergy's chairman, said Mr Fletcher's experience would help propel the company's growth.
"Having operated at such a senior level for many years within the energy industry, Steve brings a great deal of expertise and experience to BizzEnergy during our next phase of growth and development."
" I am delighted to be joining BizzEnergy at this exciting time," said Mr Fletcher, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
"It is great to have the opportunity to make a real difference to business energy buyers."
Bizzenergy, which supplies electricity to businesses, has won many awards in the three years it has been operating, including the title of Business of the Year at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Business Festival Awards, in March.
It employs almost 70 people at its offices on Berkeley Business Park, Warndon, Worcester.
