A PROPERTY development company has sold a new-build home for what could be a record price in the Worcester area.
Neil Grinnall Homes has sold the last plot at its Grange Manor development, in Fernhill Heath, near Worcester, for £675,000.
The development of nine "executive-style" homes has been sold in less than 12 months at prices averaging £500,000.
Neil Grinnall, chairman of the company, based in Stourport-on-Severn, believes this justifies his belief in the need for quality homes in Worcester and surrounds.
"There is a shortage of large executive homes in Worcester, but no lack of buyers," he said.
Executive
"Worcester is home to many large employers and is further attracting high-tech industry. It is my firm conviction that there needs to be more provision for executive housing requirements.
"Companies won't attract the best people to work for them if the local facilities - and this includes housing - fall short of expectations."
The home, called Essex House, was the largest and most expensive home on the development, measuring 5,300sq ft.
It has five bedrooms, a library, drawing room and sitting room and a "coach house" garage for several cars with accommodation above.
The drawing room has a 25ft-high vaulted ceiling with double doors opening into an area with planning permission for an indoor swimming pool.
