A DOCTOR who worked at a Hereford hospice is hoping people will turn poetry into pounds for the charity.
Leanne Hayward worked as a senior house officer at St Michael's Hospice for three months last year.
She has now joined with a group of friends and musicians to record poetry accompanied by music onto a fund-raising CD.
They would like to hear from everyone in the area who would like to write a poem in memory of a loved one who was under the care of St Michael's. The CDs will be sold in Herefordshire and the proceeds will be given to the hospice.
They are also planning a book of poems to accompany the CD, which will include a larger selection of the poems.
"Working alongside the staff and patients at St Michael's Hospice last year, I met some truly amazing people, whose memories will stay with me forever," said Dr Hayward.
"The love, strength, hope and determination of those I cared for, and the peace and support provided in the hospice has been the inspiration behind this CD.
Haven
My hope is that this CD will bring the memory of your loved ones alive, while raising funds so that St Michael's Hospice can continue to be a haven for those who need support now and in the future."
If you are full of poetic prose and would like to send your entry to Leanne for this fundraising project please send your entry to Leanne Hayward c/o Louise Page, St Michael's Hospice, Bartestree, Hereford, HR1 4HA.
Alternatively, e-mail your entry to louise.page@st-michaels-hospice.org.uk
Unfortunately, the poems cannot be returned.
Please send the following details with the poems: your name, address and telephone number with the name of your loved one and the year that they were under the care of St Michael's.
Dr Hayward is also hoping to hear from anyone who can help produce the CDs and books at reduce costs.
