JOINT discussions between local authorities could result in Redditch Council losing a £30,000 loan towards a new dual use sports hall.
While talks are going on, the £50,000 scheme cannot go ahead.
Local councillors were warned this week that they run the risk of losing the loan by not making a quick decision.
Redditch Council asked for a six to eight week decision after they were asked to find £20,000 towards the construction of the dual use sports hall at Arrow Vale High School.
Hereford and Worcester County Council have agreed to put £10,000 towards the scheme and Redditch Development Corporation £20,000 on the basis that a further grant would come from the West Midlands Council for Sport and Recreation.
But at a meeting of the town's amenities committee Tory leader Pat Wilson said the council would be wrong to commit £20,000 to the scheme without further discussions and recommended that officers look into the matter fully.
Now there are fears that the £30,000 loan offered to the council would be withdrawn.
