FAIRFIELD Villa lost for the first time in 16 Midland Combination division one matches dating back to October 19 when they went down 2-1 at lowly Burntwood Town last Saturday.
On a bumpy pitch, the hosts were ahead on 20 minutes when Brian Hendron's free-kick beat Villa goalkeeper Joe Slade.
Villa were level five minutes from the break when Wayne Davies' corner was headed home by Ray Peters.
Cliff Hughes' side pressed from the start of the second half but against the run of play the home side took the lead again on the hour mark, Richard Lyndon scoring from close range.
One-way traffic then followed from Villa with at least six chances going begging.
