DEAR EDITOR - Readers may be interestested to learn that volunteers from the Worcester Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association are celebrating the launch of a new range of care literature for people with MND.

The new Personal Guide, produced by the National Office of the MND Association, aims to inform, advise and support people diagnosed with MND as they journey through the various stages of the disease.

The guide provides practical advice to people with MND, it is easy to read and easy to navigate and more importantly - the information contained in the personal guide can be tailored to each individual. We certainly feel it will be a helpful resource to people living with MND.

The Personal Guide is the result of extensive research among people affected by MND and those who work with them. Instead of the old style loose leaflets covering various aspects of living with MND, it is presented in a ring-bound clear A4 folder. The format allows people to keep all their information available in one place, and add more information as they require.

The guide is split into several sections, where people can store appointments, medication and contacts. Basic information about MND and the Association are included as well as information on benefits and finances. Other leaflets on symptoms, advice for carers, everyday activities and many more are available free of charge as required.

Anyone in Bromsgrove or Droitwich areas wanting a Personal Guide can obtain a copy from The MND Association on (01604) 611870, email care@mndassociation.org or MND Association, PO Box 246, Northampton BB1 2PR.
