MORE than 200 residents took advantage of free blood pressure checks in Droitwich on Saturday.
Trained medics carried out the tests, which can establish whether you are at risk of suffering a stroke.
Town Rotarians and The Stroke Association planned the initiative.
Rotarian John Plumridge is one of the organisers and was given the all clear by nurses.
He said 238 people had readings and many received advice.
"One person's blood pressure was so high that a doctor was called straight away," he added.
Mr Plumridge hopes the free checks can become an annual event in Droitwich.
They were held outside Wilkinson's in St Andrews Square, Droitwich Spa Private Hospital and at Droitwich Library.
