ABAC's pensioners held a scramble at Wood Bevington pool last week and there will be another on Thursday April 17 with a 9am draw for the contest.

Phil Hill won with 12-2-0 from peg 21 ahead of John Bailey with 11-4-0 and J. Podmore 6-0-0.

A fundraising match takes place on Saturday April 12. Any members interested in fishing should contact match manager Paul Heath for details.

Redditch Town Angling club are looking forward to the new season after a close finish to the aggregate last year when match secretary Mick Schilling and club president Bob Rogers tied on points and had to go to weight to decide the outcome, which for the second year running went to Mick.

The aggregate is fished over eight rounds at various venues including club waters on the River Avon at Binton and at the club's pool near Upton Snodsbury.

Other rounds are fished on the River Arrow and at local pools.

The recent AGM decided that subs will remain the same for the coming year, hopefully encouraging new members to join. The subs are £13 for full membership and £7 for OAP/disabled and ladies.

There is a £7 joining fee, £1 for juniors, and the club is affiliated to both Redditch Federation and Alcester Angling Association and entitles members to fish Ragley Lake, Ipsley pool and the canal at Earlswood as well as the club's two waters.

Existing and new members can pay at Centrepoint club between 8pm and 9pm on Mondays 14th and 28th April.
