AN Alcester refuse collector who was killed in a car crash in appalling weather conditions was not wearing a seatbelt, an inquest heard.
Neville Stephens, aged 30, of Crooks Lane, died at the Alexandra Hospital after he collided with an Audi on September 9.
Mr Stephens' friend Stanley Jones was one of the first people on the scene of the accident.
The inquest heard Mr Stephens was driving along Trench Lane, Oversley Green, towards Alcester in wet weather at about 3.30pm when his car went out of control, spun and hit the other car, driven by Anne-Sophie Benson, of Thrupp, Oxfordshire.
A post mortem revealed Mr Stephens suffered a brain haemorrhage.
At the inquest at Leamington Town Hall, Mr Coker recorded a verdict of accidental death.
Prior to his death, Mr Stephens had registered as an organ donor and his mother, Carol, said he had saved four people's lives by donating his pancreas, liver, kidneys and heart.
