A YOUNG Redditch cricketer recently returned from a festival in South Africa to mark the landmark anniversary of a Johannesburg school.
Tom Dempster was one of 13 youngsters to take part in the Worcestershire Under-13s tour.
The team also had the chance to watch the ICC World Cup final and visited Soweto.
The festival, which included teams from the UK, Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, celebrated the 50th birthday of St Stithians School, founded by two Cornish businessmen who missed their boat to the USA but got on one to South Africa the next day.
The Worcestershire side, sponsored by Worcester Heat Systems, played five matches, won two, lost two and drew one.
