FIREFIGHTERS were last night called out to investigate reports that there was a man in the Worcester and Birmingham canal.
When they arrived at the scene in the Lowesmoor and Tallow Hill area just after 9.10pm they spotted a man sitting on the opposite bank of the canal.
Rowed
A spokesperson for the fire brigade said the man had clearly been in the water.
"The firefighters launched a small inflatable boat, which they have in the engine, rowed across and got to him," said the spokesperson.
He added the man, who was in his early 30s, and wearing just a T-shirt, jeans and trainers, was taken away by the ambulance to be checked for any injuries.
