A POPULAR Worcester lottery has made lucky punter Donald Jefferies £1,000 richer, while helping to plough money into city charities.
The St Richard's and Acorns Children's Hospices Lottery, held a "March Madness" special, which allowed people to buy extra tickets, to win more money.
The event raised more than £15,000, with Mr Jefferies, from Worcester, scooping the top prize.
A guaranteed £1,000 is on offer every week and Tricia Cavell, community fund-raising manager, said many county residents were now taking part in the lottery.
"It is one of the more popular fund-raising initiatives," she said.
