WORK will start at the end of the month on the new Areley Kings village hall after "magnificent support" from residents topped off several grants.
Less than £50,000 is left to raise following the success of the Village Hall Association which includes a "buy-a-brick" campaign.
A lottery grant and money from other funds has met more than half the £580,000 cost of the new hall, to be built opposite the present 80-year-old building on Areley Common.
Fund-raising will continue throughout construction which will last until the end of the year.
Chairman of the New Village Hall Committee Rob Fowler said businesses were now being targeted for support.
