WYRE Forest Brintons failed to repeat their midweek League Cup success as they crashed 5-2 at high-flying Blackheath on Saturday in West Midlands Division One South.
Goals from Tim Brown and Andy Oakes had given Forest Brintons a 2-1 success over Blackheath last Wednesday to set up a home quarter-final with Hinton on Saturday, April 19.
But despite being in confident mood, they failed to repeat the act in the league despite the best efforts of 16-year-old keeper Chris Wassell.
Blackheath took an early lead when Phil Mills slipped the ball past the advancing Wassell but Forest Brintons were level by the interval.
Mark Allen grabbed the equaliser only for Blackheath to dominate the second half.
Two goals in as many minutes from Mark Woodhall and Mills put them in control though Allen reduced the deficit.
However, Stuart Hensman scored twice for the home side to put the game out of their Kidderminster opponents' reach.
Although Wassell let in five goals, he had an excellent game and was responsible for keeping the score down to five.
Forest Brintons' players are asked to meet at the Hare and Hounds pub at 12.45pm on Saturday for the game at Malvern Town Reserves.
