I AM writing in reference to Steve Pratt's letter in the Shuttle/Times & News (April 3), concerning the broken slabs he put in his wheelie bin.
Having worked in the council's vehicle maintenance department, I can just imagine what a lump of concrete could do to the compactor in the refuse lorry.
I can assure him his annual Council Tax bill would be insignificant compared with the cost of repair.
I say "well done" to the sharp-eyed operative.
