Supporters of a Cleobury Mortimer nursing home are to break with tradition and put their fund-raising efforts towards another cause.
The Friends of Manor House Nursing Home will hold one of their ever-popular coffee mornings on Saturday in aid of the Shropshire Ambulance First Emergency Responder (SAFER).
Sister Maggie James, joint matron and committee treasurer, said the charity, which aims to provide initial treatment at emergencies before an ambulance arrives, deserved support.
She said: "After all the support the community has given us, we thought it was time we tried to give something back."
The coffee morning, at the home on High Street, begins at 10.30am and will offer stalls and competitions, as well as a demonstration of the skills of SAFER volunteers.
