WITH reference to the article concerning the BNP (Evening News, April 2) contesting the elections in Worcester, and the complaint from Mohammed Aslam of the Racial Equality Council, one should ask why Mr Aslam is frightened of free speech.
British citizens have the right of freedom of expression. Mr Aslam likes to see free speech for himself and his Racial Equality Council. Does he not realise that such equality not only covers ethnic minority communities, but also applies to those British citizens whose forebears fought over centuries to remain free.
The BNP is a legitimate British Political Party. Perhaps Mr Aslam would like to see the banning of Labour, Conservative and Liberal Party candidates, leaving the way for a party based on ethnic minority membership.
Then the free speech of the bulk of voters will be prohibited. That is how dictatorships start.
