BENGEWORTH Sapphires clinched the Division Two title of the Evesham and District Association despite losing their final game against clubmates Green.
Needing just one point the Sapphires were assured of the title when the Green could field only two players and had to concede three games.
Undeterred, Dan Wood and Dave Witts won six of the seven games played and completely reversed the 8-2 defeat of the previous week.
Stan Owen won his three singles for Bengeworth 49ers in their final game against Wyre Barbedwyre but their only other success was Peter Roper's defeat of Don Bailey as the Wyre boys won 6-4.
Wyre Piddle Elite retained the Division One title with victories over clubmates Outcasts and Evesham Rowing Club.
Following the 8-2 defeat of Outcasts, they knew that they only needed a draw against the Rowers to secure the title when Wyre Livewyres were beaten 6-4 by Bengeworth Tigers.
The Rowers were without both Doug Payne and Chris Penny and the Elite romped home 10-0.
The runners-up spot should still go to the Livewyres depending on their two final results against Bengeworth Red.
