SUNDAY'S home shoot at Throckmorton CPSC saw the resumption of friendly competition between club members.
At the end of the day it turned out to be honours shared on the Skeet and Trap disciplines.
On the Skeet layout, it was a family affair with Pat Smith recording the first straight of the day only to be followed immediately by grandson Simon Jones who recorded his first maximum for the club.
After two rounds, the pair were still level pegging on 48/50. Phil Clarke missed a single target for 24/25, while Alf Symonds, Stuart Emms and Dave Lindup all returned 23/25.
The Down the Line Layout had Symonds and John Ford going head to head for top trap honours. After two rounds they couldn't be separated as both recorded 46/50 - 132 ex 150.
Alan Ayres and Frank Harrison returned 22/25 (63 ex 75) for third, while senior citizen Stan Cook showed many of his younger rivals a clean pair of heels with a 22/25 (62 ex 75).
John Tarplee returned to top form on the 50-bird sporting layout, overcoming Stuart Emms by a single target with 42/50. In third place was Phil Clarke (39/50) and Pat Smith a solitary target behind in fourth (38/50).
The next shoot is on Sunday at Royal Oak, with the next Throckmorton action seven days later.
