A WORCESTERSHIRE-based wholesale nursery has reached phase two of its expansion plans with the completion of its new 400m sq potting facility.
Bransford Garden Plants' new unit was funded by reinvested profits and is large enough to accommodate production to meet the company's five-year business development plan.
Installed in the new unit are two Javo potting machines and automated compost delivery and plant handling systems.
Automate
Managing director, Geoff Caesar, said the company, based in Bransford, near Worcester, had identified a need to automate its systems.
"We had outgrown our existing facilities and as a business had identified the need to automate our production and despatch operations," said Mr Caesar.
"This centralised unit will make a significant improvement to production efficiency and has been designed with staff in mind, ensuring good lighting, plenty of windows and heating for the winter."
The construction of the potting shed follows two years of strong financial performance and forms part of a three-phase programme aimed at increasing the company's turnover by 25 per cent.
