ON Sunday, the service at St Anne's Church in Oxenhall is family communion at 11am to be conducted by the Reverend Andrew Perry.
The final total raised by the daffodil teas weekend was £2,060 for St Anne's Church. This exceeds any previous amount and thanks to everyone concerned.
A Lent coffee morning was held at Coldharbour Lane, Oxenhall, home of Kath and Eifon Rees, on Saturday and was well attended. The morning was dry but slightly chilly but this did not cool the spirits of those attending. The cake stall and bring and buy were well supported and there were lots of raffle prizes. Kath and Eifon's eight-week-old grand daughter was present and visitors were invited to guess her weight. There was also a draw for the Grand National held that day. The winners were 1 Mr Eifon Rees, 2 Mrs Jenny Elgie, 3 Mrs Joan Griffiths. Mrs Joan Griffiths, a friend of Kath, was present and mingled informally with guests. She will be starting her five-day sponsored walk in Peru in aid of CLIC on Friday, May 2. The amount raised at the coffee morning was £270 and is, of course, for Joan's sponsorship of CLIC. Kath thanks everyone who helped or supported the event in any way. She is also grateful for the donations given by friends who did not attend because of attending the Twickenham match.
