THE Wellington Heath Amateur Dramatic Society will be presenting Tons of Money, a comedy farce in three acts adapted by Alan Ayckborn, tonight and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday), at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 for adults, £3 for under 16s and the bar will be open during the evening. Everyone has been working very hard and it is sure to be an amusing and entertaining production.
Departures from the village and retirements mean that there will be a need for new members of the Memorial Hall committee when the AGM comes round in June. A great debt of gratitude is owed to past members, in particular those who served on the committee while the new hall was being built and saw this ambitious project come to a successful conclusion. So there is now an opportunity for some new people to join the committee and build on the encouraging start that has been made. Anyone who is interested in making this kind of contribution to the village can contact the chairman on 633475 for more information on the posts where help is required.
The annual May fair will be held in the hall on Saturday, May 3 from 9.30am-11.30am. This is an important fundraising event for the village and everyone will be welcome. As usual there will be a good range of things on offer, including Christ Church's produce stall, the Toddler Group with toys etc and books, cakes and the large plant stall run by the Garden Club. Before May 3 collectors will be calling round for any spare bric-a-brac, books or toys (but not jumble, please!).
