CHILDREN from Upton Youth Band will be going to Pontins holiday village today (Friday) for a week of music and fun.
Around 30 members will spend a week at the resort, at Brean Sands, Somerset, learning new skills with top instructors.
The course covers ensemble and solo playing as well as leisure activities.
Nicki Taha, the band's press officer, said the children had been excitedly looking forward to the course, organised by the British Youth Bands' Association.
"It's a good confidence builder and they get to meet lots of other kids which builds up a good community spirit between the bands," she said
The week ends with a gala performance on Thursday night. The children return home on Good Friday.
