A WOMAN who continued to claim Housing Benefit after she married was ordered to repay £1,759.40.
The case was one of two successfully prosecuted by Malvern Hills District Council at Worcester Magistrates' Court last Friday.
Lorna Ruth Pullen, age 27, of St Nicholas House, Cowleigh Road, Malvern, was given a conditional discharge and ordered to repay the state benefits she had received, along with £75 costs. She had been jointly investigated by the Department of Work and Pensions and MHDC after failing to declare her marriage last August.
Adrian Peter Hodgkins, aged 31, of Rose Garth, Storridge, pleaded guilty to submitting application forms he knew were false by not declaring income from Working Families Tax Credit. He was ordered to pay a fine of £200, costs of £250 and to repay the benefit of £1,008.
