A WOMAN celebrated turning 60 by wing walking for charity in full view of her cheering family and friends.
Judy Giles, from Stretton Grandison, fulfilled a childhood ambition through her aerial escapade and raised £1,700 for the Martha Trust.
Mrs Giles became aware of the trust through her work as a Pets-as-Therapy volunteer. Her dogs Flash and Danny are well known to youngsters at the trust's Hereford base.
Mrs Giles performed her wing walk on Wednesday at Rend-comb aerodrome, Cirencester.
"I did it. I can't believe it," she said, "It was everything I imagined and more. I climbed, I banked and I zoomed and I'm told that I did a lot of waving."
Mrs Giles said she found the wind at 130mph an ordeal. For the last five minutes of her 20-minute trip had to support her neck with one hand because of the discomfort.
Watching below was husband Ron, sons Mark and Paul and sister Christine.
