LANGLANDS SPORTS 2, WEST MALVERN 4
LEE Tracey continued in his rich vein of form with yet another hat-trick to give West a convincing 4-2 win over the league leaders Langlands, only their second league defeat of the season.
The West opened brightly, playing down the slope, and within six minutes they were ahead. The ball was twice played into the box before finally reaching Ken McEwan who headed home.
West continued to push forward and after 20 minutes went two up when Tracey got between the centre half and the goalkeeper to lob the ball over the keeper's head.
Langlands came back strongly and thought they had reduced the arrears only to have their goal disallowed as the ball had gone out of play from the corner.
The second half was only three minutes old when Langlands reduced the arrears. A long ball downfield completely deceived keeper Newman bouncing over his head to allow Stewart Harvey the easiest of chances to head the ball home.
West came back strongly with both Derek Browne and Tracey both going close. But once again it was Langlands who levelled the score when the ball was bundled over from the corner.
Their lead was short lived as Tracey broke through and scored with his shot across the face of the goal.
West continued to press and once again it was Tracey who beat the defender and drove the ball home from 12 yards.
On Saturday West are away to Oak Apple, players meet at 2pm at Eurohaus, and on Tuesday they are away to All Blacks, players meet 5.30pm at eurohaus.
