Kays Athletico 3, Express 3
Express came away with a hard earned point, but disappointed not to have all three despite being 3-0 down inside 25 minutes.
Third choice goalkeeper Phil Smalley made a good start to deny Kays after five minutes and on 10 minutes the home side opened the scoring. Five minutes later Mick Hadley's mistimed tackle led to a penalty which was put away convincingly and on 25 minutes Kays extended their lead.
However, five minutes later Stu Summers met Mark Taylor's corner with a powerful header, before Scott Mason pulled another one back following a good build to make the score 3-2 at the half time.
Smalley saved superbly from point blank range to keepExpress in it before Jamie Roberts made it 3-3.
This week Express get back on the cup trail in the semi final of the Bernard Finnegan at home to St Johns. Players meet 9.30am Victoria Park for the first of two big semi final weekends.
