THE go-ahead for a post office at Powick Service Station could be delayed until June.
Malvern Hills District Council has asked for more information about how owner Priyvadan Rughani plans to use a raised platform to create additional parking spaces.
Planning officer Andrew Moody said Mr Rughani's submission on how the platform would protect a mature beech tree was not good enough.
Now officers may not be able to get the planning application on to the agenda for next northern area planning committee meeting on May 7, delaying a decision to the following meeting on June 4.
"There wasn't clear information about what it would look like and how it would impact on the tree," said Mr Moody.
"The submission raised more questions than provided answers."
The creation of additional parking spaces needed for the post office has been hindered by the need to protect the tree. An initial planning proposal was withdrawn in January to try and address this problem.
Plans were re-submitted a month later to create parking spaces on a raised platform above the tree's roots.
In February, Mr Rughani said he expected to decide this month whether he could afford to build the parking spaces.
If granted permission, Mr Rughani then expects to undertake costing and tendering.
"This is very frustrating," he said. "People keep asking me what's happening and I can't tell them."
"I might give up, I'm not going to keep on spending money."
Mr Rughani wants permission for the additional parking spaces before committing to running the post office.
