I HAVE never understood those who argue that politicians must choose "between party and the people".
To me, this makes about as much sense as saying that one must choose between Greenpeace and protecting the environment, between Amnesty International and championing human rights, or between the Cotswold Line Promotion Group and promoting the Cotswold Line.
The Constitution of the Liberal Democrats begins with these words: "The Liberal Democrats exist to build and safeguard a fair, free and open society..."
I do not believe that the pursuit of these aims is in any way detrimental to the people of Worcester.
