ADRIAN Skeggs branded his Worcester Rugby Club team "unprofessional" as they once again showed their capacity to exhilarate and frustrate with equal intensity yesterday.
The Sixways side showed their Jekyll and Mr Hyde characteristics with a sometime impressive, sometime dreadful display in their 37-12 win over Otley -- a victory which maintains their six-point lead over Leeds Tykes in National Division One.
Andrew Lamerton, Sateki Tuipulotu, Earl Va'a and Alistair Murdoch bagged first-half tries as Worcester clinched a vital bonus point after Leeds kept the pressure on with a 32-21 win over Wakefield.
However, director of coaching Skeggs was clearly disappointed with his side after seeing them fail to score a single point in the second-half as they played out time.
He said: "We had no composure in the second-half and were very unprofessional. I want my side to put the knife in and turn it when we've got teams beaten and we just didn't do that -- I was very disappointed with them."
Otley actually won the second- half 9-0 as Worcester took their foot off the pedal and Skeggs pulled no punches with his analysis of that 40-minute period.
"We're a professional side and we've got to carry the good work in the first-half forward into the second. We are still not playing an 80-minute game and it's just not good enough.
"The team have to take responsibility for their own actions because they lowered their standards out there in the second-half."
Skeggs, however, was boosted by the return from injury of Va'a who slotted back into the team after four weeks out with a hand injury.
He said: "When you put Earl into the game he makes a difference. Guys respond to him very well and in the first-half we played some great stuff which was very pleasing.
"It was certainly some of the best rugby we've played this season, followed quickly by some of the worst.
"We have to be more convincing."
