KIDDERMINSTER Harriers have slipped below the halfway mark in the Nationwide League Division Three table for the first time this season -- but manager Jan Molby is convinced his side are good enough to finish in a play-off position.
By falling victim to a waterlogged pitch at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, Harriers found themselves in 13th spot and anxious to get back in action against rivals Cheltenham Town at Aggborough this Saturday.
The match has added spice with former long-serving Kidderminster boss Graham Allner returning to Aggborough as the Robins' first team coach.
They also have ex-Harriers captain Mark Yates among their playing ranks.
The midfielder said: "I have been back a couple of times to watch games but this will be the first time as a player.
"I still know a lot of the squad and a lot of the backroom people who I keep in touch with. They have achieved fantastic success."
Molby, however, does not want the hype that will surround Cheltenham's visit to Aggborough to affect his side's bid to climb back up the table and ultimately clinch a place in the play-offs.
He said: "If we can put a good run of wins together, which we haven't done yet this season, then we've every chance.
"It's only once that we have had back to back wins and if we put together maybe four or five wins then who knows.
"But what we obviously need to do is to get that consistency that we talk about. You need that to get into the play-off places.
"I've certainly seen teams already this season that will finish above us in the league because they are stronger and have got bigger squads than us.
"On the other hand I've seen that there is a possibility of reaching the play-offs. But to do that we need a higher level of consistency and we need to score goals. It's as simple as that.
"But I wouldn't rule that out as anything is possible in football and we'll keep working at it and hopefully the players who have been out of form will find form. It's not going to take a lot to turn it around.
"If you glance at the league now you can probably look down to 17th place and say they are easily within reach of a play-off place.
"We are 13th and it's the first time we have been out of the top half all season, but if we win our game in hand we'd be eighth. That's how close it is.
"I'd like it to stay that way right up to the end of the season because it means you can afford a defeat here and there, but if you win successive games it really moves you up the table.
I think it's going to be that way because the league is so tight."
Kidderminster are expecting around 1,000 Cheltenham fans to attend Saturday's match which pitches Molby's 1999-2000 Conference title winners against the previous season's champions who Allner linked up with after a brief spell as Worcester City's boss.
