KIDDERMINSTER Harriers' new boys are starting to feel at home at Aggborough.

But manager Jan Molby is convinced Harriers' fans have not yet seen the best of them.

"I think if you look at them they can all do better - and I'm sure they will," he said.

Following Kidderminster's arrival in the Third Division, Molby has snapped up defender Mark Shail, striker Tony Bird, midfielders Andy Ducros, Ian Bogie and Barry Horne plus goalkeeper Brendan Murphy.

Only Murphy has yet to taste first team action while the other four have been playing their part in Harriers' promising start to life in the Football League.

Commenting on former Worcester City defender Shail, who moved to Aggborough from Bristol City, Molby said: "He's not played in all our games, but I think he's done well.

"He gives us something different defensively because he's physically very strong and he's good in the air.

"Possibly the one thing he doesn't give us is the ability we had last season to defend high up the pitch because he's not as quick as Adie Smith and Craig Hinton when they are together."

Molby is eager for former Swansea City front-runner Bird to end his goal draught as soon as possible, but is happy with the way he is setting in at Aggborough.

"He's got a great attitude. He works very hard, but obviously we want him to score goals and he needs to start doing that."

Molby has been impressed by the way record £80,000 signing Ducros is beginning to make his mark at Aggborough.

"We had a lot of work to do with Andy when he came fitness-wise and I think his confidence had been shot the pieces, so it's been a slow re-building job.

"We are not there yet but you can see that the smile is coming back on his face.

"He's lost weight and he's fitter than he probably has been for 12 months. So it's all starting to come back together for him.

"He's getting better and stronger all the time and he crowned a fine individual performance against Blackpool with a good goal."

And he said Bogie was another who was getting fitted by the day.

The Aggborough chief said: "He's getting livelier in the training sessions and last Friday, against Blackpool, I thought that along with Ducros, he was the one player who showed he could keep hold of the ball and pass it.

"But, again, there will be an improvement in him when he improves his fitness."

Speaking of Horne, Molby said: "He's played the role we felt he would play, being a sort of anchor man in midfield. He's not a goalscorer, he doesn't venture too far up field but we knew that before we signed him. We signed him to have a nice balance in midfield and he's another one who has settled in well."

Meanwhile, Molby has a number of injury problems for Friday's home clash with Rochdale (7.45).

Tim Clarke (knee), Ian Foster, Ian Clarkson, Gary Barnett (all hamstring) are unlikely to be in contention for selection while Dean Bennett (groin) faces a race against time to be fit.
