MOSELEY fly-half Ben Harvey aims to take his anger out on Worcester Rugby Club when the two Midland heavyweights square up tomorrow for a Tetley Bitter Cup clash of the titans.

The 26-year-old admitted being released by the Sixways club in the summer was a massive knock-back but aims to prove Geoff Cooke wrong in the third round encounter at Bournbrook.

Harvey, who played for Worcester 23 times last season, was astonished when he found out his contract was not to be renewed in the summer, claiming he was told by a third party.

He said: "I was angry because Geoff didn't tell me, it just emerged that I was not going to have another contract and that was that.

"Initially I was very upset because it was a massive knock-back for me personally. I thought I'd done enough for Worcester to earn another contract but I guess, they didn't agree."

He added: "Saturday's match gives me the chance to prove Geoff wrong but, to be honest, I'll be happy as long as we win."

Harvey is determined to repay Moseley boss John White's faith in him, helping his side to an extended cup run and a championship challenge.

He said: "Moseley showed faith in me when I needed someone to and I am grateful. If I look back at what happened with Worcester, it has probably been a good thing for me because I've improved as a player.

"Last year I might have tried to single-handedly win a game but I realise now my job is to get players around me into the game and play for the team.

"This season I am playing week in, week out, for a big club like Moseley so, the release has worked out well...in the end."

He added: "I can't wait for the game. I thought I'd be more nervous than I am but I'm just really looking forward to the match."

Harvey missed Moseley's weekend defeat at Manchester through a stomach bug which saw him lose a stone in weight. However, he is now fighting fit, promising an upset.

He said: "We've got a very young side but on our day we are a match for anyone. We are more than capable of being Worcester."

Moseley also include former player Richard Protherough in their side.

Team: Cook, Martin, Binns, Brading, Gray, Harvey, Bemand, Long, Protherough, Sigley, Hall, Hadley, Mellors, Drake-Lee, Patten.
