LAWRENCE Dallaglio is a possible late inclusion for the London Wasps squad to play against Worcester at Sixways on Saturday.

Wasps' Director of Rugby Nigel Melville has requested that the former England captain appear for his club side in the pre-season friendly that kicks off at Sixways at 3pm.

England manager Clive Woodward has yet to confirm the release of Dallaglio and fellow England squad member Joe Worsley, Will Green and Marty Wood, but Wasps are hopeful that they will make an appearance.

Wasps' Press Officer Emma Ward also confirmed to Worcester that Simon Shaw and Alex King both released from the England squad earlier this week, would both be appearing.

Dallaglio was yesterday fined £15,000 and ordered to pay £10,000 costs after admitting a disrepute charge. But the former England captain has avoided suspension therefore clearing him to play a part in this autumn's World Cup.

The verdict was delivered after a 90-minute Rugby Football Union disciplinary hearing at Twickenham.

While the financial punishment is a heavy one, there will be still be huge sighs of relief that arguably England's best player can take on the world's best in just five weeks' time.

The match at Sixways on Saturday will be the first to take place in the new 5,500 capacity stadium.

People will be able to sit and watch the match from the brand new South Stand, but the executive boxes will remain closed until the first home league game against Rugby on Saturday, September 11.

The £1.8 million building will be officially opened on Tuesday, September 7 when Brian Baister, RFU Manager Board Chairman, will be guest of honour.
