WORCESTER City boss John Barton is refusing to get carried away by title talk.
City, who entertain Weymouth tomorrow in the Dr Martens League Premier Division (3pm), are just six points behind leaders Burton Albion.
And with Burton visiting second-placed Crawley Town tomorrow, it provides a golden opportunity for City to close the gap even further.
City will be confident of another victory after eight wins and just one defeat in their last ten matches.
But Barton said: "We have had a decent run and I can once again hear people talking about our position comparable to clubs above us.
"From my stance it is too early to talk about that.
"If it is as tight as what it is now at the end of the season, then perhaps you have to look at the club adopting a different strategy."
Barton admits he knows little about tomorrow's opponents, who are five places below City.
But they won 3-2 at lowly Tamworth last weekend after being two goals down, and Barton said: "They have a bit of fight and resilience in them, that is a certainty.
"I believe their away record is a bit stronger than their home record, a bit similar to ourselves.
"It is a classic example of sides handling less expectation away from home than in front of your home supporters. That will put us on our guard tomorrow."
But Barton says City will be full of confidence themselves. "There is no reason to say we are fearing anybody after the run we have had."
Barton is anxious to get tomorrow's game played following the postponement of next Tuesday's trip to Clevedon Town, although further rain could place a question mark over the pitch.
"Let's hope we get tomorrow on because that is the only one before the Trophy tie at Hendon."
City expect to have a full squad to choose from with the exception of midfielder Andy Ellis, still recovering from his broken leg, and defender Chris Greenman, sidelined by a dislocated shoulder.
Nathan Jukes is likely to return at left-back after illness ruled him out of last weekend's 2-1 victory at Stafford, while Carl Tranter could stake a claim for a recall up front after scoring four times in the midweek Worcester Royal Infirmary Senior Cup victory over Westfields.
Defender Martin Weir is unlikely to be risked as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. Barton added: "The Westfields game knocked him, on a bit further but there is still a bit to do."
