COLIN Larkin was honest enough to admit he could have bagged 20-plus goals for Kidderminster Harriers but he could still leave Aggborough with his head held high.
The teenage striker, who turns 20 in two days time, returned to Wolverhampton Wanderers after his lengthy loan period yielded seven goals.
Larkin, now rumoured to be a target of Jan Molby's at Hull City, has made a big impact at Harriers with his pace and skill down the flanks.
Home and away fans will know Larkin has missed his fair share of one-on-ones but a lack of composure at times, as demonstrated in Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Leyton Orient, has been the only thing to let him down.
The Irishman, who has two years left on his contract at Molineux, is now hoping he will be available to join Wolves in their Division One play-off quest should he be needed.
Larkin admitted: "We will have to see if I'm still registered as I'm not sure whether my season ends now. If there's going to be injuries, they might need to drag me in.
"It has been brilliant at Kidderminster. The lads have made me feel very welcome and it's been great working with the staff, Jan Molby, Gary Barnett and especially Ian Britton.
"The best bit has probably just been the first-team experience. It's my first full season and I now have a big taste for first-team football.
"In fact, I will have a word with Dave Jones about it because playing in-front of the fans is what I want.
"The reserves doesn't really mean anything. I've been with players who want to work hard here and that makes you better."
And Larkin confessed: "I've missed a few chances against Leyton Orient. With all of them over the season, I could have had 20-plus! But I'm happy with seven goals, it's been good.
"Saturday was a game of missed chances and if we'd taken them we could have won 4-1 or 5-1."
But the young striker reflected on a fine season for Harriers and said: "When I came here near the start of the season, we were close to relegation.
"There's been a big improvement here with Richie Appleby, Bo Henriksen and Abdou Sall lifting the team and we have climbed the table since then."
