MANAGER Jan Molby believes the experience of war-horses Mike Marsh and Ian Clarkson holds the key to Kidderminster Harriers' bid to win the Nationwide Con-ference.

Since they moved to Aggborough in November, Harriers have gone from strength to strength and are now four points clear at the top of the table.

Molby said: "I know a lot of people raised questions when I went and signed the likes of Clarkson and Marsh because they had packed up the professional game through injury, but they have been excellent.

"They are good pros and they have settled in very well. They are very keen and they are enjoying their football. I think that's showing in the way they are playing."

Clarkson is a former Birmingham captain

City captain who also played for Stoke City and Northampton Town before a broken leg forced him to quit the professional game.

Marsh, the former Liverpool, West Ham United, Coventry City midfielder, retired from the professional ranks because of a knee injury.

Both are now playing a major role in Kidderminster's promotion chase and produced eye-catching performances at Kingstonian last Saturday when Molby's men stretched their unbeaten league run to 11 matches by securing a precious 1-0 triumph.

Kidderminster are today mid-way through a two-week break from Conference action which resumes next Saturday with a clash against Hednesford Town at Aggborough.

Molby believes the fortnight's rest can only benefit his squad by enabling players who have been carrying knocks recently to make full recoveries.

He said: "I don't think the break will have any effect on us. It's just about right."
