BO Henriksen returned despite a hamstring injury and put in a man-of-the-match display in the 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town.
Molby sprung a surprise by recalling his 27-year-old fellow Dane in midfield alongside Adie Smith and Dean Bennett.
And Henriksen, normally a striker, admitted the switch suited his desire to become more involved in the play.
He said: "I've played a few games in midfield before but it's not really my favourite position.
"Yet I really enjoyed it against Shrewsbury and found I was getting the ball more with more time on it.
"I do like to try and pass the ball around and we needed someone in there to hold onto it and do that.
"The manager asked me to play there on Monday and I said of course I can."
But Henriksen felt Harriers nearly gave the game away with a poor spell in the latter stages of the first half.
He added: "We did quite well at the beginning of the game but the last 20 minutes of the first half were not so good.
"We didn't play in that time and we didn't push up. But the second half got better and better. It was a hard-working victory in a way."
