MANAGER Jan Molby today underlined his determination to keep Kidderminster Harriers at the top of the Nationwide Conference.
His promotion-seekers took over the leadership on Saturday when they won 3-2 against title-rivals Nuneaton Borough at Manor Park.
It is the first time Harriers have headed the Conference table since April, 1997.
Molby, whose side are top on goal difference from Rushden & and Diamonds who have a game in hand, said: "After a bad start it's what we have been working hard all season to do. We are there on merit and it's up to us now to make sure we stop there.
"In a way it's like the season starting all over again now and we have to make sure we maintain it. If we hadn't won on Saturday it would have been an injustice.
"We created so many chances and the scoreline flattered Nuneaton. It is a difficult place to go to. We needed the three points and we got them."
Molby also praised former Hereford United front-runner Ian Foster who was Kidderminster's hat-trick hero.
"He was larger than life throughout the game and he got his rewards with his goals," said the former Liverpool ace whose side lost four of their first five Conference matches this season. They have now gone eight league matches without losing.
Meanwhile, many of the top Nationwide Conference players will be in action in a representative game at Worcester City's St George's Lane ground tonight.
An FA XI takes on the Combined Services (7.30), with the FA side including Hereford United skipper Ian Wright and striker Rob Elmes as they bid to earn places in the England semi-professional squad.
Worcester manager John Barton said: "It is nice to receive recognition, and to be allocated a game like this is a compliment to the club."
City have reduced admission prices to £3 for adults and £2 concessions, with children aged 14 and under being admitted free if accompanied by an adult.
