WORCESTER City manager John Barton expects to pass a fitness test to take charge of his side's Dr Martens League Premier Division game at Bath City tomorrow!
Barton was forced to miss Saturday's fine 3-2 win at Cambridge City following a knee operation the previous day.
But he says he will be fit for the Bath game as he doesn't want to have to go through the torture of following a match by telephone again.
He said: "It's not to be recommended. Just listening to the commentary was quite tortuous. I was in a bit of pain on Saturday but it was eased considerably when the result filtered through."
City are now fourth in the table but Barton is not getting carried away. "There are only a few points covering half the teams in the league. It is a long race and there are ups and downs along the way -- it is where you finish that counts."
Barton plans to continue enquiries today over bringing a Conference midfielder in on loan, but he now has Paul Carty available again after injury.
City will entertain Cirencester Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round on September 30. Cirencester won 5-1 at Barnstaple on Saturday.
