WORCESTER City's hopes of bringing in a new midfielder on loan have been put on hold for another week.
Manager John Barton had targeted an unnamed player from a Nationwide Conference club to bolster his injury-hit squad.
But having been denied once before last weekend, he said: "I have just spoken to the club concerned and it is certainly off for this week. They have picked up a couple of injuries again in addition to what they already had on Saturday.
"But we are still in there with two other clubs and we have first chop at it - we will have another look after the weekend."
Skipper Chris Greenman will continue his comeback from a knee operation in the reserves' home Central Conference clash with Telford United tonight (7.45).
