FORMER Birmingham City captain Ian Clarkson has agreed an 18-month deal with Kidderminster Harriers.
The 28-year-old defender has promised Aggborough boss Jan Molby he will put pen to paper in the next day or so.
Once the formalities have been completed Clarkson is expected go straight into the squad for Kidderminster's Nationwide Conference clash at Telford United on Saturday.
Clarkson quit the professional game with Northampton Town because of injury and took his insurance retirement money.
He can, however, play in non-league and has been training recently with both Harriers and their title-chasing rivals Nuneaton Borough.
Solihull-born Clarkson, who has also played for Stoke City, informed Molby of his intention to join Harriers earlier this week.
He made 136 appearances for Birmingham and 75 for Stoke while chalking up nearly 100 matches for Northampton.
Versatile Clarkson can play at right back, centre back or sweeper.
Goalkeeper Stuart Brock, meanwhile, has been taken off the transfer list at his own request.
He had asked to go on the list when Tim Clarke arrived at Aggborough from Scunthorpe United in early September.
Since then Brock has made just one first team appearance.
