LEIGH Sinton's Emma Walker won the top section at the Sapey one-day event, a British Eventing affiliated competition held at Cockshutts Farm, Upper Sapey.
Walker led the way in the Open Novice section on her bay mare Pamela. The pair beat veteran international Tiny Clapham by over four marks, adding just a few cross country time penalties to their dressage score.
This was the mare's first outing of the season and Walker added to the win she scored last month at Bicton one-day event in Devon, with her pre-novice ride Welton Crescendo.
Novice section winners included international Owen Moore on the in-form Crown Farm Consort.
Andrew James saw off a challenge from Inkberrow's Olympic silver medallist Leslie Law in his section, riding the eight-year old Ciao Mario.
The final novice section saw a four-point victory for Clare Bradley on the dark bay mare Able Lady. Law was again second on Rocco Fox, a horse making his affiliated eventing debut in impressive fashion.
Stourport's Irish international Austin O'Connor had two top ten placings on his novice rides, Horseware Fabio and Camills Oscar, Kidderminster's Tim Randle was ninth on Mary's Little Lamb and Malvern's Stella Bayliss was 11th on the versatile coloured horse Toby Two Tone.
Samantha Fish headed the Open Pre-novice on another young mare, Gunstone What If, with Allensmore's Emma Beaumont half a mark behind on bay Padraig's Dream.
U21 international Oliver Townend, in great form, opened the pre-novice sections with a close win on Matchplay II.
