WORCESTER St Johns Cycling Club's first evening 10-mile time trial of the year was shortened to 9.5 mles due to road works.
But that did not dampen riders' spitrits as fine but cold weather produced some good times.
Winner of the previous week's five-mile event, Tim Wood of Stourbridge CC, was again first in a time of 22.10. Malvern's Dave Dickerson was 14 seconds back in second place, with Gavin Poupart third on 22.48.
Top veteran was Wor-cester's Pete Jansen in 25.48 well ahead of Rob Finch (27.51).
Last year's overall ladies' evening race series winner Sarah Emerson began her campaign as the fastest lady, clocking 27.14, with Ros Hope second in 29.50.
